About

I try to see the whole person and adapt therapy to who they are.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Behavior Analyst. I have experience working with adults and children with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and behavior problems. I have uniquely trained to work with children and adults with an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis to address things getting in the way of them achieving their goals. I believe that the way we act as an adult or child helps us get our needs met. Unfortunately, sometimes this works to get immediate needs met but does not help us to reach our long-term goals, or to build healthier relationships. My goal as a counselor is to help clients learn healthier ways to get needs met and to connect with others. Sometimes this involves addressing past negative experiences or changing our relationship with our thoughts or feelings so we can act differently. *I am EMDR Certified and trained in CBT, and ACT. I do not currently provide ABA therapy or practice under my LBA license/BCBA credential but I do integrate behavioral therapies into counseling when needed. At New Perspectives Counseling, PLLC, I work to individualize treatment for each client. My goal is to work with clients to determine the underlying cause and develop a plan to work together toward achieving the client’s goals toward living a healthier life. My practice specializes in working with individuals, adults, and children (3 through 12 years old). *When working with children I determine through assessment and input from parents whether we will address struggles through therapies like play therapy or sand tray therapy or more behavioral approaches. I am a Registered Play Therapist and am trained to work in Sand Play and Sand Tray. *I am not currently providing ABA services.
